(H.e.d) p.e

(hed) p.e. (also known as Hed PE or (hed) Planet Earth) is a rapcore band from Huntington Beach. California.
They fuse punk energy with hip hop lyrics and instrumentation to form a sound they call "G-punk" (a combination of G-funk and punk). They have also been known to experiment with various other musical genres, such as reggae and funk.

(hed) p.e. was formed in 1994 by African-American / Brazilian-American MC Jahred Shane (aka M.C.U.D.) and lead guitarist Wesstyle, both of whom saw each other in attendance at many of the same shows in the Los Angeles and Southern Californian underground scene. They began writing songs together and teamed up with Mawk (bass guitar, who had previously been in a California-based funk band with Jahred), Chizad (guitar), B.C. (drums), and DJ Product 1969 (turntables) to form (hed) pe on New Year's Day. The same year (1994), they released their first 8-track demo, containing Stitches (available only on this tape), Hill (the same version later released on Church of Realities) and Epilogue (also released on the Serpent Boy single). Few copies were made, but on rare occasions fans put them up for auction; one copy was reportedly sold for $280.

In a recent interview in Circus Magazine, frontman Jahred Shane discussed about touring and their seventh record. When asked about influences for the record Jahred stated that: "on our last album I was listening to a lot of stuff that came out in the seventies like punk, classic rock and some funk. On this record I am listening to more metal stuff like Slayer and Pantera. With Tiny aboard, I think as band we have grown in a sense heavier as far goes music." The interview also stated that the band has recorded demos while on tour. Jahred was quoted saying, "we have a small little work station in the back of our bus. Mostly its my bassist [Mawk] and guitarist [Jackson] coming up with ideas and bits and pieces for the next album. We do have some demo's for the next album recorded. But like I said, myself and the rest of the members still have to add our input." Jahred also said he hopes to finish the album by late spring.

Biohazard

The band formed in 1987 in an intense Brooklyn atmosphere, resulting in their writing of equally intense music. The original lineup consisted of bassist/vocalist Evan Seinfeld, guitarist Bobby Hambel, and drummer Anthony Meo. Guitarist/vocalist Billy Graziadei joined the band soon after. Their first demo tape, released in 1988, caused a stir with journalists who felt that the band's lyrics displayed certain fascist and white supremacist views, despite the fact that Seinfeld himself was Jewish. Accusations of racism in their music were strenuously denied by the band, but in later interviews, Seinfeld and Graziadei explained that it had all been a publicity stunt to win over the band Carnivore and their fans. Eventually, the songs in question were no longer played or even mentioned, and the band began preaching message of tolerance and anti-racism. After the release of their demo, Anthony Meo left the band and drummer Danny Schuler stepped in to replace him. A second demo tape followed in 1989.

Maze Records
In 1990, Biohazard signed a recording contract with Maze Records. The band's self-titled debut album was poorly promoted by the label yet still managed to sell over 40,000 copies. Subject-matter of the album was Brooklyn, the gang-wars, drugs, and violence. The band went on their first European tour and, when they returned, realized that the problems they sang about on their first record were not limited to their Brooklyn hometown.

Roadrunner Records
In 1992, Biohazard signed with Roadrunner Records and released Urban Discipline, which gave the band national and worldwide attention in both the heavy metal and hardcore communities. The video for the song "Punishment" became the most played video in the history of MTV's Headbanger's Ball, and the album sold over 1,000,000 copies. The band also began opening for larger acts such as House of Pain, Sick Of It All, Fishbone, and Kyuss.

Warner Bros.
Months later, the band left Roadrunner Records in order to sign with Warner Brothers Records Inc. and released their third studio LP, State of the World Address. The album was produced by Ed Stasium in Los Angeles and contained the single "How It Is" featuring Sen-Dog from Cypress Hill, for which a video was also shot. During their 1994 tour, the band made an appearance on the second stage at the Monsters of Rock festival held at Castle Donington. State of the World Address went on to sell over 1,000,000 copies, and Rolling Stone magazine selected the Biohazard logo as the best logo of the year. This was the last Biohazard album with Bobby Hambel, who left due to differences with the rest of the band. Hambel spent time in White Devil, also featuring members of the Cro-Mags, before seemingly leaving the music business entirely. (mds)

The Truth - Limp Bizkit-

You can't sleep, you're restless
and slightly obsessed with falling too deep
and malfunction, you're a virus
whose intention is fucking up something
You're a crateron the face of a problem much greater
It's the violence, or lack thereof control
Body and soul, digging a hole
Is the blood stainless?
Enjoy the pain with accepting your grief
Are you finished?
Dumb fucking question, don't let yourself fall asleep
Ressurect the intention
Once your vision is now mass-produced,
Imagine the insults a blessing
imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Just imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
The pendulum swinging
Hypnosis has taken control,
now you lingeron a shadow of a doubt
Have you really figured what you're all about?
Don't trust your instincts
Just open the chamber where you keep those darkest regrets
All the things you've done wrong
Rebellious at heart all along
Is your leader a voice?
Somehow you replaced all your game with a debt
Now the payback's a bitch
Why owe your life to a bitch?
Absolutely patheticand regret it when told you are made of mistakes
Imagine the insults a blessing
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Now speak to your leader!
Now speak to your leader!
Your father who are in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, deliver us from evil, deliver us from evil
Your father who are in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, deliver us from evil, deliver us from evil
Our father who are in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, deliver me from evil, deliver me from evil
Our father who are in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, deliver me from evil, deliver me from evil
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth

Sebelum Cahaya -Letto-

Ku teringat hati
Yang bertabur mimpi
Ke mana kau pergi cinta
Perjalanan sunyi
Yang kau tempuh sendiri
Kuatkanlah hati cinta…
Reff I: Ingatkah engkau kepada embun pagi bersahaja
Yang menemanimu sebelum cahaya…
Ingatkah engkau kepada angin yang berhembus mesra
Yang ‘kan membelaimu cinta…
Kekuatan hati
Yang berpegang janji
Genggamlah tanganku cinta…
Ku tak akan pergi
Meninggalkanmu sendiri
Temani hatimu cinta…
Kembali: Reff I
Ku teringat hati
Yang bertabur mimpi
Ke mana kau pergi cinta
Perjalanan sunyi
Yang kau tempuh sendiri
Kuatkanlah hati cinta…
Reff I I: Ingatkah engkau kepada embun pagi bersahaja
Yang menemanimu sebelum cahaya…
Ingatkah engkau kepada angin yang berhembus mesra
Yang ‘kan membelaimu cinta…
Kembali ke: Reff I I
'Kan membelaimu cinta…

SLIPKNOT

Early years (before 1994)
Slipknot's first songs were composed in 1992. The original Slipknot group was that of Anders, Shawn and Paul, they had the idea of making a group and played around with the idea, they even wrote some songs as early as 1993. However Shawn became busy and project "Slipknot" fell through. Fortunately the idea was revived in 1995 by Shawn and Anders and thus Slipknot was officially formed in the September of 1995. The Slipknot band went through the names "The Pale Ones," "PyGSYSTEM," and "Meld" before they settled on SlipKnoT. Many of the songs on Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat and some that were added to later albums were written during these sessions. Shawn Crahan was the lead drummer before Joey Jordison entered the band. Crahan, being the founder, came up with the idea of having three drummers; first to create a powerful tribal sound, and second to create a "wall of sound", both of which Crahan wanted.

Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. Crowz and Slipknot (1995–2000)
In 1995 there were two rules. Slipknot had to play what they wanted to play and it didn't matter what they played, who they played to and the cost of seeing them play should never matter. The second rule was that there needed to be 3 drummers. The members came from several different bands (Pre-Slipknot Bands ) and each had the common view on the way that everything was going in the town of Des Moines, they were sick of it; there was no music scene, it was hard to get bands CDs, etc... . As a result Slipknot was born with one mission, this mission being to 'Clean up the music industry'. The band's aims remain to be to create a sound the world has never heard, a vision no one has ever seen, this can be clearly seen by the hype to Slipknot's second album. They sensed people were ready for a show, rather than some guys just playing some music.

Iowa (2001–2002)
Iowa, the band's second album with Roadrunner Records, was released in 2001. Critical response to the album was generally mixed: Jason Arnopp of Kerrang! called the album "one beautifully crafted labour of hate", and David Fricke of Rolling Stone called the album "the first great record of the nu-metal era." It was a commercial success also, peaking at number three on the Billboard album charts, and at number one on the UK album chart. However, the album only achieved a "3 Star rating" by All Music Guide. In mid-2001, the band once again toured with Ozzfest. The band was dropped by Roadrunner for sales in Scandanavia in 2002 due lack of success with Iowa in the area. Slipknot were snapped up by Nuclear Blast Records, an equally successful label in the following year. In 2001, the band went on tour with System of a Down in the United States, Mexico and Colombia. After seeing the success of the tour, System and Slipknot went on a Pledge of Allegiance Tour with Rammstein in 2002. A live album entitled Pledge of Allegiance Tour: Live Concert Recording was recorded from this tour. The band also appeared in the concert scene of the 2002 movie Rollerball. The single "Left Behind", a track from Iowa, was nominated for a Grammy in 2002. In 2002, the BBC said that Slipknot stole the show and proved entertaining after the band performed at Reading Festival in England.
Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and hiatus (2003–2007)
In late 2003, the band began writing and recording with renowned producer Rick Rubin, who had previously worked with artists such as Johnny Cash, System of a Down, and Slayer. The band released their third album, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) in May 2004. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 and . Johnny Loftus of All Music Guide called the album "a satisfying, carefully crafted representation of [the band's] career to date." Robert Cherry of Rolling Stone said that the album "experiments with even newer extremes, which in Slipknot's case means tunefulness and traditional song structures." In 2004, the band toured with Ozzfest for a third time. In early 2005, the band went on The Subliminal Verses Tour with Shadows Fall and Lamb of God
Several members of the band collaborated with other artists on the Roadrunner Unite: The All-Star Sessions CD released in October 2005. On the record, Joey Jordison was named a "team captain". James Root, Corey Taylor, and Paul Gray also contributed to the album. 9.0: Live, a live album recorded from shows in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Osaka, Singapore, and Tokyo, was released in November 2005. The album peaked at 17 on the Billboard 200.

Reformation and new album (2007–present)
On April 19, 2007, the band's website posted a news article stating that a new Slipknot album "will surface in 2008." Jordison explained in a recent Kerrang! Magazine interview that this album would be the heaviest they've ever made, but still containing some experimental sounds, and recording shall commence in January 2008. On April 19, 2007 Jordison stated that he would be drumming for Korn in the summer of 2007.
In 2007, Joey Jordison announced the formation of a new side project with King ov Hell of Gorgoroth. (mds)

Album baru Radiohead

Tembang All I Need mengaduk-aduk dengan salah satu liriknya yang erotik (I'm an animal trapped in your hot car) .
(mds)

Rivermaya new formation

Jayson Fernandez, an 18 year old from Manguisoc, Camarines Norte, is the newest member of Rivermaya. He won the judges –- and the bands –- nod hands-down during the intensely exciting grand finals for Rivermaya : Bagong Liwanag, the search for the next brother of the Rivermaya family. He joins Mark Escueta, Mike Elgar and Japs Sergio, with whom he will share songwriting and vocalist duties. The lanky teenager brought the house down with his heartfelt rendition of the Rivermaya classic Himala. It was as if he was asking the whole world for a miracle to make his dream come true, said judge Francis Brew Reyes, music director of the influential NU 107. Jayson brings a special youthful energy to Rivermaya – as shown when he performed his first song with ang banda ng bayan -– the rousing celebration of the future generation, Awit ng Kabataan, with all the joy and raw intensity that only an 18year old can rightfully bring to this anthem. The crowd at Music Musuem greeted him with wild cheers and a standing ovation, as the evening ended with Rivermaya's new single, Banda ng Bayan. The evening did not entirely go in his favor, as arch-rival Hans Dimayuga, 19, a senior from Dela Salle University garnered the most number of text votes and got the judges approval for best original song.Jayson dropped to the floor when Rivermaya co-manager, Lizza G. Nakpil, exclaimed, He was chosen from over 500 hopefuls who trooped to Rivermaya’s 2-day auditions at the University of the Philippines, and from 13 finalists who made it to the weekly televised search on Studio 23.A highschool graduate from St. Peter’s Academy in Calamba, Laguna, Jayson was raised by his lola and mother (who was a Juan dela Cruz fan and taught him to sing his first song, Balong Malalim.)

311

311 (pronounced "three eleven") is a band, from Omaha, Nebraska. Their musical structure incorporates a variety of musical styles including hip hop, alternative rock, punk, reggae, and funk

311 has enjoyed commercial success stemming from its widespread fan base. Since their self-titled album in 1995, all but one of their albums (the exception being Live) have been in the top 15 of the Billboard 200. Nineteen of their singles have received significant radio airplay since "Do You Right" in 1993; five of those songs being top 3 hits on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart.

The beginnings (1993-1994)
Their first major record, Music was released in 1993. The single "Do You Right" received airplay on modern rock stations and reached #27 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. However, the album failed to chart at the time.
The lack of album sales came at a cost, Capricorn pulled their tour support right after the release of the first album, the band responded by financing their own tour. The band was driving around in an old recreational vehicle borrowed from Chad's father. After tackling a steep incline one day, the RV caught fire. The only door out of the vehicle was surrounded by flames so the band jumped through the fire. All of their equipment and possessions were lost, no one was injured, the song "Omaha Stylee" depicts the situation.

Mainstream breakthrough (1995–2001)
In 1995, 311 released what was to be their biggest selling CD, the self-titled 311 (also known as The Blue Album). Produced by Ron St. Germain , the album was recorded live in contrast to their previous two albums in which all instruments were recorded separately. The first single "Don't Stay Home" was a modest success, reaching #29 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. But the follow-up single "Down," which was released 14 months after the album, received heavy airplay on mainstream radio and the accompanying music video was on MTV's rotation. The song hit #1 on the Modern Rock chart. The band made their Network Television debut on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on August 23. The third single, "All Mixed Up", enjoyed almost identical success, reaching #4 on the Modern Rock chart. These singles propelled the album to platinum status in 1996. The album eventually went triple-platinum. They also appeared on David Letterman playing "Down".

Later years (2003–present)
Their seventh major release, Evolver, came in 2003 and marked a return to the straightforward guitar-heavy sound that the band had become known for. Overall opinions of the album were mixed. Evolver debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200, and the single "Creatures (For A While)" reached #3 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart.
In 2004, 311 covered the Cure's "Love Song" which became a #1 hit on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. It also reached #59 on the Hot 100, their first single to reach that chart. It was featured on the soundtrack for the motion picture 50 First Dates and then a few months later on their own Greatest Hits '93-'03. The compilation debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold. The album also featured two new songs. "How Do You Feel" and "First Straw". Of these new tracks, "First Straw", was released as a single and reached #14 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart.

Limp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit (alternately written as limpbizkit) is a Nu Metal band from Jacksonville, Florida.
They are often credited, along with their discoverers Korn, for creating the nu metal genre and starting to widen its popularity. Limp Bizkit was very popular during the late 1990s and early 2000s, and their albums have sold over 33 million copies worldwide.
Limp Bizkit's current members are vocalist Fred Durst, bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto (Rivers' cousin), and Latvian turntablist/sampler player DJ Lethal. The band's guitarist Wes Borland departed in 2001 following the release of their first three albums to be replaced by Mike Smith for the band's fourth release Results May Vary. Wes rejoined for The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1) only to quit once again in 2006 to work with other projects Black Light Burns and From First to Last. It's unknown if Wes will rejoin Limp Bizkit in 2007 for The Unquestionable Truth (Part 2).

Significant Other (1999-2000)
In 1999, Limp Bizkit found major worldwide success with their second album Significant Other, which debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and received generally positive reviews . The album sold 634,000 copies in its first week. The first single “Nookie,” was an enormous hit on rock radio, reaching the top 10 in both rock and rap charts. The band followed-up the single with three simultaneously released singles - "Break Stuff", "Re-Arranged" and "N 2 Gether Now" (featuring Method Man). The album also featured the song "Nobody Like You" with vocals by Jonathan Davis of KoRn and Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots.

Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000-2001)
15 months later, Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, a title with sexual connotations referring to the ‘anus’(chocolate starfish) and ‘hotdog flavored water’ (semen), was released on the 17 October 2000, selling over a million copies in the US in its first week of release (a record for a rock album) and going on to sell almost 12 million worldwide. The first two singles "My Generation" which was covered by Welsh band The Blackout in 2007 on Higher Voltage, a CD released free with Kerrang! Magazine and "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" were released at the same time in promotion of the album. "Take a Look Around" was later added to the list as the theme song to the movie Mission: Impossible 2 starring Tom Cruise. A remix of "Rollin'" featuring Method Man, Redman and DMX was also a minor club hit. The fourth single "My Way" was commissioned as the opening theme for the WWF's WrestleMania X-Seven. Despite its commercial success, the album received mediocre reviews from many critics. In late 2000, the band also stirred up some discontent by allowing the controversial peer-to-peer file-sharing network Napster to sponsor their Back to Basics tour, advertised as a chance for fans to 'get closer to the band.'

Results May Vary (2002-2004)
With Borland's absence, Limp Bizkit began a nation-wide audition in 2002, for their new guitarist called "Put Your Guitar Where Your Mouth Is". Durst announced at the outset that he was interested in recruiting a female or more than one new member into the band. Thousands of hopefuls were said to queue up to participate. Some controversy occurred when rumors surfaced that all contestants were required to sign a document giving Limp Bizkit the full ownership of any riffs they played. Fred Durst said on the band's website that what they signed was only a release form so that each person's likeness could be used in a documentary if the band were to make one. Each auditioner was allowed only sixty seconds in the first round to prove themselves in the eyes of the band. The final contestants were Monte Pittman, Anousch and Jonas Anderson of Fresno, California. Christopher Arp of Psyopus auditioned in this guitarist search, as he later said in an interview with Terrorizer magazine, and Eddie Van Halen auditioned for fun due to his being friends with the band.

The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1)

Throughout July 2004, various rumors began circulating claiming that Wes Borland had been playing with the band again. By July 8, a fan site released an official report that Wes Borland was recording with the band in London. Photos appeared on the band's official website of him playing with the band, and a live video of them playing a new song The Truth in studio was also posted on the website. Durst said of Borland's re-entry, "We are very content with Mike being gone. We are the type of people that stay true to our family and our instincts and at any moment will act on intuition as a whole. Mike wasn't the guy. We had fun playing with him, but always knew, in the back of our minds, that he wasn't where we needed him to be mentally." At this stage, they reverted back to the use of their original logo.
Two months prior to the release of their fifth album The Unquestionable Truth, a homemade pornographic film starring Fred Durst was leaked onto the internet. The T Mobile Terrorist group claimed responsibility, although later Durst mentioned to MTV that it had been spotted by "a man who came to repair his computer" who then stole it and spread it about the net. Durst was later approached by a company asking him if he wanted to sell the film on the market, however Durst declined and filed a lawsuit against the thief.

soulfly show this year

Soulfly has just scheduled the date for the 11th Annual D-Low Memorial Festival. On August 31st, after Soulfly returns from their short tour of Western Europe, they will perform alongside several other as-of-yet-unannounced very special guests at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ. This will be Soulfly's only U.S. show before they begin tracking the next Soulfly album in September. The D-Low Memorial Festival is a special event every year; in recent years, the show has been filmed for The Song Remains Insane DVD release, and last year Igor Cavalera joined Soulfly on stage for the first time ever - reuniting Max and his brother to make music again. There's no telling what's in store for this year's festival, but it promises to be brutal. (mds)

Fred Durst Digs Wes Borland's New Band

A few years back, a video featuring a baseball-capless Fred Durst prancing around the bustling streets of Vancouver, British Columbia, made the rounds on video-sharing sites like YouTube, subjecting the Limp Bizkit frontman to oodles of online ridicule.
In the obnoxiously long clip, Durst disrupts pedestrian and vehicular traffic, pops out of a large recycling bin, clumsily rides a bicycle down the street and does his best impression of the Carlton dance from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" — all while lip-syncing British post-punk outfit Modern English's 1982 classic "I Melt With You."
The video was never intended for public consumption. Durst called it "a fun thing I did for a girl I was dating at the time," adding that the footage was among the spoils hacked from his personal computer. An explicit video, showing the singer doing it all for the nookie with an unidentified female, was also pilfered and eventually released online.
"I had a lot of fun, but I felt silly borrowing people's bikes and just setting up and dancing in the middle of Vancouver," Durst said of the Modern English homage. "I love that song. It was just something I did in my hotel room while she was working. I thought it was romantic — hey, I'm a romantic guy."
These days, Durst continues to make movies — the legitimate kind. His first stab at directing, "The Education of Charlie Banks," will debut this weekend in New York as part of Robert De Niro's Tribeca Film Festival (see "Fred Durst: The Next Martin Scorsese?"). And while Durst plans to dabble with film in the future, his first love is music in general and Limp Bizkit in particular.
Durst recently posted a blog on Limp's MySpace page expressing a strong desire to restore the band's original lineup and get back to the business of crafting nü-metal masterpieces. Trouble is, guitarist Wes Borland wants no part of it (see "Wes Borland Sees The Black Light, Says No More Bizkit For Him"), having formed his own rock outfit, Black Light Burns. The band's debut LP, Cruel Melody, is slated for June 5.
"There were feelings with Limp Bizkit that were so amazing, it's almost like if you could get close to feeling something like that again, with the same family you started it with — I mean, I love Limp Bizkit, and I would always want to have the family together," Durst said. "There were times we were all looking at each other like, 'Holy sh--, I can't believe this is happening.' But we're all individuals as well. People evolve and grow, and life is fascinating and fun and tragic. There are so many things in life, and I always look at Limp Bizkit as something I just love, because it's just that feeling, that thing."
Durst said he has seen loads of bands perform live, and he admits some do a fine job at it. But none is Limp Bizkit.
"I think Limp Bizkit f---ing rock hard," he said. "Limp Bizkit on the stage, together, just stepping back and looking at it — I just love it. I love the whole band."
Durst doesn't know what the future holds for the Bizkit ("I stopped predicting the future a long time ago," he said), but like a delusional boyfriend waiting for a girl to take him back, he doesn't think a reunion is out of the question, even with Borland doing his own thing.
"We're still a family, we're just farther apart," he explained. "But it's still there, and we all know it. We're going to do it when we want. We don't feel obligated. Our hearts are in it. If there's ever something Limp Bizkit does together, I'd say check it out, because it might be pretty powerful."
And yes, folks, there will be a follow-up to 2005's ill-received The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1). He said the Limp Bizkit project has been in the bag for awhile, but when will it surface?
"Timing's everything," Durst said. "I want it to be the right time. I think people should focus on Rage Against the Machine playing Coachella. People need to realize that [the Rage reunion] is going to rattle the world like an earthquake" (see "Rage Against The Machine To Reunite For Coachella Festival").
Durst has heard Black Light Burns' inaugural offering, and he admits that he digs it.
"Wes would always play stuff he was doing, solo-wise," Durst said. "He's one of the most creative guys you'll ever meet. Obsessive — just making great music in his studio all the time. He's a killer player, and he plays so many instruments and he's created this thing. I think [Black Light Burns] are cool. Everybody has their own little solo thing going on right now, and I think Black Light Burns are pretty damn good." (mds)

Album baru Netral

(mds)

Travis Barker

All About Travis.

Whether they're dressing up in cheesy '70s garb for "First Date" or pondering the effects of divorce in "Stay Together for the Kids," one thing remains constant for Blink 182: Travis Barker's solid drumming. But it wasn't always pop-punk tunes that Barker played.Encouraged by his parents, Barker started taking drum lessons and playing jazz tunes at the age of 10. By the time he was a student at Fontana High School in Riverside, Calif., Barker played in a jazz band as well as his school's drum line.Barker moved on to play drums in numerous bands, including the Aquabats, Hooker and Flash in the Pan. In 1998, Barker was asked to play a few concerts with Blink 182, which, at the time, was enjoying newfound mainstream success with the single "Dammit (Growing Up)."Nearly a month later, Blink 182 guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge and bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus asked Barker to join the group. Barker's first album with Blink 182 was 1999's "Enema of the State," which, to date, has sold more than 7 million copies worldwide. In support of its most recent album, "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket," Blink 182 is back on the road again, this time as part of the Pop Disaster Tour with Green Day and Saves The Day.A few of Travis Barker's favorite things:

The Reason -hoobastank-

I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
I've found out a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you
I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
Thats why i need you to hear
I've found out a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is Youand the reason is You [x3]
I'm not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
I've found out a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you
I've found a reason to show
A side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do
And the reason is you

Hoobastank

Early career
Hoobastank formed in the Los Angeles County suburb Agoura Hills in 1994. According to drummer Chris Hesse, vocalist Doug Robb had known guitarist Dan Estrin for some time before competing against him in a high school battle of the bands competition and subsequently, they decided to form a band. They then recruited Markku Lappalainen and Hesse to form Hoobastank, which at the time was spelled Hoobustank (pronounced the same way as "Hoobastank"). In an interview with Launch Yahoo!, Doug Robb said the name had no particular meaning: "You're going to ask me what it means. It doesn't mean anything. And it's really cool, it's one of those old high school inside-joke words that didn't really mean anything." Rob Bourdon, Mike Shinoda, and Brad Delson of Linkin Park attended the same high school, Agoura High School, as the members of Hoobastank.Hoobastank started playing gigs in their local area, the band started out in Cobalt Cafe along with Linkin Park, Incubus, Avenged Sevenfold and others. They recorded their first full-length self-released album in 1998 called They Sure Don't Make Basketball Shorts Like They Used To. It featured a unique saxophone section headed by Jeremy Wasser, who executive produced said album and recorded the Summer Romance saxophone solo on Incubus' S.C.I.E.N.C.E. album. By this stage, Hoobastank had developed a strong reputation in Southern California. This attracted interest from Island Records, who subsequently signed the band in 2000. The band's reputation continued to grow on tours with the similar sounding band Incubus.
They covered a variety of songs, such as Rod Stewart's "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun."

Career success
Hoobastank released their self-titled debut in November 2001. The first single was "Crawling in the Dark" which was a breakthrough hit reaching #68 on the Billboard Hot 100, #3 on the modern rock chart, #7 on the mainstream rock chart and #1 on an MP3.com download chart in early 2002. The second single "Running Away" was even more successful reaching #44 on the Billboard Hot 100, #2 on the modern rock chart, #9 on the mainstream rock chart and #3 on the MP3.com download chart. The Hoobastank album went platinum on the back of these hits and reached #25 on the Billboard 200 album charts and #1 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart. The album also achieved recognition internationally with the band touring in Europe and Asia in support of the record. "Remember Me" the third single was a moderate hit reaching #23 on the modern rock charts and #9 on the mainstream rock charts. The band also made a song titled "Losing My Grip" for the soundtrack of the movie The Scorpion King.
The band entered the studio in 2003 with producer Howard Benson who has produced records by P.O.D., Blindside, Cold and The Crystal Method. However, recording was disrupted for a month when Dan Estrin was seriously injured in a freak minibike accident in August. Estrin had recovered by October and the band headed off on a Nokia Unwired Tour with the All-American Rejects and Ozomatli in November.
Their second album The Reason was released in December 2003.It showcased a harder-edged vocal performance from Robb. The single "Same Direction" was made available for download on the band's website. Doug Robb says on the band's website: "A lot of it is about asking questions or questioning all that people see. It's not all about religion. "Out of Control" is about that and about opening your eyes after being blinded by being devoted to anything. "Same Direction" would reach #9 on the US modern rock chart, #16 on the mainstream rock chart and #16 on a composite world modern rock chart (based on the US, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Canada and Australia).A year later, the Let It Out DVD collected the band's videos.
The title track was released as a single in the first half of 2004. It became a massive hit reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the US and world modern rock charts, #1 on a world airplay chart in May 2004 and #10 in Australia. The song was also played during the final episode of Friends
In Canada, it spent 20 weeks at the top, setting a new record for most weeks at No. 1.
The Reason received a new lease of life on the US album charts, reaching #3 on the Billboard 200.
The band's international profile was increased by a support slot on Linkin Park's Meteora world tour in early 2004.
Their third album Every Man for Himself was released in May 2006 and debuted at #12 on the Billboard chart. Three singles, "If I Were You", "Inside Of You" and "Born To Lead" have been released so far, all of which have fared poorly on the Rock charts. Despite this, the album has been certified Gold. On a 2005 co-headlining tour with Velvet Revolver, the band received a chilly reception from some audiences and rumors of a feud between Robb and VR frontman Scott Weiland were soon filling Internet message boards. "If I Were You," addressed the whole affair, Dougg later said in an interview with MTV News online that he has nothing against Scott or any other member of Velvet Revolver
As of early 2007, Hoobastank toured in America, Asia, Australia and South Africa.
The band went out to tour South Africa late April/early May for two days. They are now back in the states, working on their fourth album which is rumoured to come out late 2007, early 2008.

Luv your life -Silverchair-

artist : Silverchair
Thrust the candle to the dark of your disease
Burn the fishplate execute ill memories
Labyrinth of sympathy in which I'm lost and
can't leave
And too much truth overshadows the lime lies
And what lies beneath the clouds is an
Altered perception and I'll pay for sanity
But sanity don't come cheap
You don't know the truth and I love your life
Flinch against the fire but this ain't winter
And I'm all by myself the way I wanna be
Where I'm content to be to be all by myself
But frozen eyes are bound to melt.

Silverchair history

Frogstomp
Silverchair’s debut album, Frogstomp, was recorded in just nine days in early 1995. At the time of recording, Silverchair's members were only 15 years old. Frogstomp's lyrical concepts are fictional-based, mostly from television ("Pure Massacre", "Israel's son"), hometown tragedies ("Faultline" was based on the 1989 Newcastle eartquake, in which a childhood friend died) and perceptions of the pain of friends ("Shade", "Suicidal Dream").
A #1 hit in Australia and New Zealand, Silverchair went on to become the first Australian artist since INXS to hit the U.S. Top 10, selling more than 2.5 million copies throughout the world. As Frogstomp and "Tomorrow" propelled Silverchair to musical superstardom through 1996, the group juggled memorable performances on the roof of Radio city music hall and tours with Red Hot Chili Peppers alongside full time schooling commitments back home in Newcastle.

Freak Show and Neon Ballroom
The trio also found time that year to record their second album Freak show which was released early in 1997. It yielded three Top 10 singles in Australia - "Freak", "Abuse Me" and "Cemetery". The songs focus on the anger and backlash that the expectations of Frogstomp brought upon the band. "Freak Show" went gold in the United States and global sales eventually exceeded 1.5 million copies.
After graduating from school the band was able to spend much more time creating their next album, Neon Ballroom which was released in March 1999. The band originally intended to take a 12 month break, but according to Johns, in an interview which was part of the special Neon Ballroom release, "it felt weird not writing and making music".
Daniel Johns succumbed to an eating disorder due to anxiety "it was his means of taking control of his life". Lyrics had come before the tunes this time around and this unconventional approach had taken Daniel months to think about. The acclaimed "Ana's Song" was the second single, that described his battle with his eating disorder. The video for the track took home the best video trophy at the ARIA Music Awards The album is also notable for contributions by Australian pianist David Helfgott, Midnight Oil member Jim Moginie and ARIA-winning DJ, Paul Mac.
Silverchair toured extensively in support of the album propelling it to stronger worldwide sales than they had achieved with Freak Show. In Europe and South Americait became the group’s most successful album to date, touring live and including appearances at festivals such as Reading and Edgefest and tours with bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and blink-182. After all this touring the band announced that they would be taking a 12 month break.
Having fulfilled their three album deal with Sony Music Australia the group was pursued by labels for much of their year off. At the end of 2000 they announced that they had signed new recording agreements wit Atlantic Records for North and South America and their own indie label, Eleven: A Music Company in Australia and Asia. As a result of these new deals their former label rush released a compilation album without the band’s involvement.
Silverchair's one and only gig in 2000 was a sold out appearance at Australia’s Falls Festival on New Year's Eve. It was followed on January 21, 2001 by the biggest show of their lives - 250,000 people at Rock In Rio- a performance which the band describe as the highlight of their career to date.

Diorama
While recording Diorama, Daniel Johns, no longer simply wanted to be in a 'rock band', he thought of himself as an 'artist'. The result was a more thoughtful, professional album than previous outings. In June 2001, the band entered a studio in Sydney with producer David Bottrill (Tool, Peter Gabriel, King Crimson) to start work on their fourth album, Diorama. This time, Daniel Johns formally assumed the role of a co-producer.
The album, which Johns described as "a world within a world", came from his newfound method of writing most of the material on the piano, which he had learned during the band's break. In order to complete his vision for the album, a range of other musicians were drawn in to contribute to the disc, most notably the renowned Beach Boys and U2 collaborator, Van Dyke Parks who contributed orchestral arrangements to "Tuna in the Brine" and singles "Luv Your Life" and "Across the Night". Paul Mac and Jim Moginie also returned.
Silverchair fans got their first taste of Diorama when the first single "The Greatest View" was released to radio networks in Australia in early December 2001. The single was then released January 28, 2002, to coincide with the band’s appearance on the Big Day Out tour. Singer Daniel Johns has said he was so medicated for his reactive arthritis during the tour that he barely remembered playing.
Diorama entered the Australian charts at #1 in April and has gone on to sell over 210,000 copies and be certified 3x Platinum so far. It has also yielded the top 10 single "Without You" and the top 20 hit "Luv Your Life".
The album's international promotion was hampered by the band’s inability to tour due to Johns' ill health. The singer/guitarist spent 2002 battling a severely debilitating case of reactive arthritis from which he has since recovered. Despite the lack of promotion, the album reached #12 in Germany and inside the top 40 in other countries including Holland, Sweden and Brazil.
In October 2002, the band’s work on Diorama won them six ARIA Awards including "Best Group" and "Best Rock Album". The trio performed "The Greatest View" at the awards ceremony. Shortly after, the album returned to the national top 20. They then went on the "Across the Night" Tour, which was a 2.5 hour extravaganza, aiming to replicate many of the more complex songs of Diorama in the first hour, showcasing the more experimental works of earlier albums as well as the Diorama songs. The second hour showcased the heavy rock of Silverchair's repertoire. Silverchair announced an indefinite hiatus following the tour.
Young Modern
In November of 2006, Silverchair announced they were working on the music for their fifth studio album, Young Modern. Bass player Chris Joannou wrote a short overview about how the recordings for Young Modern went, which was published on the band's website on July 27, 2006. He wrote that the band spent five weeks in the Hunter Valley, in late 2005 to play some new tunes together. Prior to that Johns had been busy recording home demos on his own. Then the demos were recorded in a recording studio in Sydney and once the band had put it all together they headed for L.A. to start recording the songs at Seedy Underbelly Studios as they would appear on the album. Nick Launay was hired to produce the album together with Johns and during the time in L.A., some more songs were written (and possibly recorded). Van Dyke Parks was hired to do some orchestral arrangements for three new songs and these orchestrations were recorded in three days in Prague. The band mixed the album in L.A. in January 2007 with Diorama co-producer David Bottrill.
They played a limited number of 'warm-up' concerts (with Paul Mac on keyboards at the Great Escape festival, the Clipsal 500 and the Rock-It festival) to showcase some of the new material and fund the recording of Young Modern. They originally aimed to release the album around December 2006, but delays pushed it into being released on March 31, 2007 in Australia.
In the build up prior to their Homebake performance, Silverchair performed a cover of Midnight Oil's "Don't Wanna Be the One" at the 2006 ARIA Awards as part of Midnight Oil's induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame. During the end of the performance Johns spray painted PG4PM (Peter Garrett for Prime Minister) on a stage wall, paying tribute to the Oils' frontman who is now a federal MP for the ALP.
The band played at Homebake on December 2, 2006 in Sydney; at Phillip Island on December 30, as part of The Pyramid Rock Festival; and the Queen's Wharf Brewery in Newcastle on New Year's Eve. They also played some showcase events in the U.S. and Canada in early 2007, in order to attract record companies to distribute Young Modern. It was recently stated by Johns on a Channel V broadcast of Silverchair's Homebake performance that Paul Mac is his "musical soulmate" and he finds it difficult to perform without him" and that Silverchair becomes a "supergroup" with his presence.
"Straight Lines" was chosen as first single from the new album Young Modern. Footage for the video was shot in Sydney, in which fans were invited to appear. The single was released on the band's official website and their official MySpace page on February 2nd. The physical single was released on March 10th and debuted at number 1 on the ARIA charts. Silverchair became only the third Australian band to have three number 1 singles on the ARIA Charts, the other bands being The Easybeats and The Seekers. Coincendentally, Judith Durham, lead singer of The Seekers, performs guest vocals on an iTunes bonus track from Young Modern.
Young Modern debuted at number one in the ARIA Albums Chart, becoming their fifth consecutive studio album to top the chart, making them the only Australian band to ever reach five number one albums, surpassing Cold Chisel and Midnight Oil with four. It was certified double platinum by ARIA in only its third week charting. Young Modern continued to claim the number 1 position for a fourth week, becoming their fastest-selling album and holding off the Arctic Monkeys' Favourite Worst Nightmare.
Silverchair cleaned up at the 2007 Aria awards taking the coveted "Best Album" and "Best Band" gongs among their five awards for the evening
